If you are going to a Chicago Bear’s game or another game at Soldier Field, tailgating is a must. Here is everything you need to know to make the most of the experience.
Where To Tailgate
Tailgating is allowed on all surface lots and on top of the Waldron Deck. Most of the parking throughout the stadium consists of season parking passes.
The South Lot Premium area on 18th St. can be entered using Red and White coupons. The North garage via Museum Campus Drive can be entered using Blue coupons. The East Museum Lot can be entered using yellow coupons and Adler Planetarium Lot can be entered using purple coupons. The North Garage via McFetridge can be entered using orange coupons.
Cash parking is available at Adler Planetarium and Burnham Harbor for $50. There is also cash parking on the Michael Reese Campus at Southwest Facilities. There are shuttle services back to the stadium on game days at the Southwest Facilities. Cash prices are subject to change without notice.
The Adler Planetarium parking lot is home to RVs and Busses on a first come first serve basis as space is limited. There is a $150 fee for these vehicles per game and cash is typically not accepted for bus/RV parking so paying ahead of time can be done by clicking here.
What To Do While Tailgating
Pro Tip: arrive before the game starts and eat 2 hours before the game starts so there is plenty of time to set up and clean up.
Grill: Grilling brats, burgers, hot dogs, and everything else you can think of is an absolute must for a Soldier Field tailgate. Complete your meal with other grilled items like corn on the cob, baked potatoes and anything that'll fuel you for the big event.
Drink: Alcohol is permitted in the parking lot unless you are in a family friendly lot. Carrying alcohol outside the lot is forbidden with a risk of getting a ticket.
No tailgate is complete without games. Tailgate parties last for several hours, so bring plenty to keep you and your peers entertained. Most games are allowed as long as the party set up is within the boundaries of your parking area and does not block traffic.
When To Tailgate
All parking lots and garages open 4 hours before the game kicks off. Tailgating isn't allowed during the game, but you can get back to it at the end of the game.
All vehicles then need to leave the parking lots within 2 hours of the game ending. Overnight parking is not allowed.
